Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.

Norwood Elementary Red Ribbon Walk & Wrap

When: September 1, 2015 to November 30, 2015

Event Details

Norwood is the ideal candidate for this Walk Wrap funding opportunity. This year, Norwood science scores dropped 13 points on the 2015 Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) as compared to the 2014 FCAT test scores. We are greatly concerned with this decline and are striving to correct this deficit. Having 40 additional computers would be one method to improve our schools' scores. The use of technology will allow teachers and students access to school curriculum that is all computer based. By having 40 additional computers, it will allow teachers and students to access simulations and virtual lessons that are simply just not possible with a textbook. This computer capability will enhance specifically the science lessons that are required for students to pass the FCAT Science test in fifth grade.
