Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't, yet only a quarter of teens report having these conversations.

2012 Red Ribbon Theme

Introducing...The 2012 Red Ribbon Theme: The Best Me is Drug Free®

Sarah English, a mother of four in Morristown, Tennessee, learned about the National Family Partnership’s 2012 Red Ribbon Theme Contest in her local newspaper and thought it would be a great opportunity for a “teachable moment” to talk to her kids about drugs.

“I sat my kids down one afternoon and told them about the contest. Together, we all came up with some ideas for the theme. It was a great time for us to talk about what they knew about drugs. We made a fun day out of it. Winning the contest is an extra, unexpected bonus!"
